Jobs at Kinzin

Interested in joining the Kinzin Team?

At Kinzin we make Spaces (mini-sites) for private sharing among small groups, laser-focused on ease of use. A Kinzin user can create a Space for any real-life group they are in: classroom, sports team, family, or even a Space for an outing with friends.

You'll be working with a talented team of like-minded developers who love their jobs, and code for fun in their spare time. Most of all we are looking for people who want to make a service that makes the world just a little bit better by giving our customers new communication superpowers.

Open Positions

Server-Side Developer

As part of our server-side team you would be helping to make the user experience fast and useful, while dealing with issues of scaling and privacy. Kinzin is poised to grow quickly and is always improving, so your skills will be put to a real test.

Our server-side work is primarily Ruby on Rails and MySQL. Knowledge of Python, REST, and/or NOSQL are pluses. We run a lot of asynchronous updates through the system, along with longer-running graphics processing, so you should be able to reason about making a seamless experience without imposing unnecessary serialization.

Client-Side Developer

As part of our client-side team you would be helping to keep the user-experience fast, clean, and super-friendly. We count the ease of use of our site as one of our primary advantages, and are constantly working to make it even better, so you will have an opportunity to really shine.

Our client-side work requires someone with deep familiarity with building web applications. We use jQuery for Ajax in both the dynamic DOM aspect and the XHR (though the X in Ajax stands mostly for JSON, not XML). Ideally you can bend CSS to your will, work around bugs in IE, are familiar with upcoming changes in HTML5 and spend a lot of quality time in Firebug (or its equivalent in other browsers).
